As custodians of the Czech National Cemetery, we are reaching out to you with heartfelt appeal for your donations.
Recently, the Czech National Cemetery has experienced extreme financial difficulties. Increasing maintenance costs, derecho damage expenses, and a rapid nation-wide decline in traditional burials have dramatically impacted the cemetery’s budget. As a result, the cemetery is seeking your urgent help in order to sustain operations.
Your donation will directly contribute towards:
- Grounds Maintenance. Annual cost for mowing alone in 2023 was over $26,000 (33% of 2023 operating expenses.)
- Continued Derecho Recovery. The cemetery experienced extreme damages due to the 2020 Derecho, including the loss of over 100 trees. Clean-up costs not covered by insurance significantly impacted the cemetery’s overall budget.
- Upcoming additional expenses. Road re-surfacing and larger repairs to (and probable replacement of) the cemetery’s faithful 1999 Dodge Ram.
- General Operational Costs. General maintenance and overhead costs including insurance, utilities, etc.
